Nordkalk’s biggest Finnish production site is located in Lappeenranta. There is a quarry, a grinding plant, two flotation plants and a sales office. Also the subsidiary Suomen Karbonaatti Oy (Nordkalk’s interest 51%) operates in the same industrial area. Lappeenranta quarry is the only one in Europe where a rare mineral called wollastonite is quarried.
