Miedzianka

Nordkalk’s largest quarry and production plant in Poland is located in Miedzianka near Kielce. The name comes from the highest hill in the area – Miedzianka. The raw material of Miedzianka plant was formed over 400 million years ago: Devonian limestone, which is rich in calcium carbonate, has a low level of impurities and a high compressive strength.

• The mining traditions in the Miedzianka area (first copper and lead ores) date back to 14th century.
